According to the Ukrainian President, Ukraine received a new IRIS-T launcher from Germany yesterday. Since this is now public knowledge, I can say that according to my information it should actually be another fire unit, not just a single launcher. Training finished some time ago. This is now the 10th IRIS-T SLM fire unit Germany has delivered to Ukraine since 2022 and at least another two — so the 11th and 12th IRIS-T SLM fire unit — are to be delivered until the end of this year. In addition, work is underway on a project to upgrade the IRIS-T SLM fire units that have been delivered to date, as well as those due for delivery in the near future and following years, by integrating one additional IRIS-T SLM launcher and one additional IRIS-T SLS launcher in each fire unit. Germany is providing about €182 million for this project.

The 1st Assault Regiment has published a detailed video on the use of a Vector UAV during their reconnaissance missions. These reconnaissance drones are funded in large part by the German government, but are also purchased directly by Ukrainian units, for example. My friend S1epanS and I finally had enough time to work on a translation so you can view the more than 7 minutes long video with English subtitles. As always, you can also find the translation (with a link to the original video without English subtitles) on my YouTube channel, in case you prefer watching longer videos there or need a backup.

The German district of Stade, with support from organisations such as the German Red Cross, the Johanniter Unfallhilfe and many volunteers, sent another aid convoy worth around €250,000 to Ukraine this week. Nine fully equipped vehicles are being delivered to fire brigades and emergency services in Ukraine, along with two lorries loaded with dozens of pallets of supplies. My latest piece → According to the Ukrainian MoD, Germany’s commitments to the Czech ammunition initiative have so far been more substantial than previously known. Around €300 million have been invested without any public announcement. SFC Energy AG has been contracted by the German government to produce and deliver combat-proven hybrid energy supply systems (fuel cells and batteries) worth approximately €42.7 million to Ukraine. In addition to the delivery, local structures for training, service, and support, as well as for regional value, are being established. According to SFC Energy AG, their fuel cell systems have a very low thermal and acoustic signatures, which significantly enhance stealth capabilities and thus safety in the operational environment. They are also enabling a continuous, low-maintenance, and low-emission energy supply under reduced logistical requirements. Image: SFC Energy AG

According to the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Germany is willing to participate in the Ukraine Transport Support Fund. The fund has recently been established to finance small and medium-sized projects aimed at restoring civilian transport infrastructure in Ukraine. In a recent meeting between Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba and Minister of Transport Patrick Schnieder, both parties also discussed further cooperation in the railway sector, the renewal of the Ukrzaliznytsia rolling stock, and possible financing mechanisms for the purchase of new electric locomotives for Ukraine. Ukraine's 540th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade has shared a new combat report about one of the two IRIS-T SLS launchers integrated into their IRIS-T SLM fire unit. In one mission, they had a 100% interception rate, with all four IRIS-T missiles available used to intercept three Kh-101 cruise missiles and one Kalibr cruise missile launched by Russian forces against critical infrastructure. Germany has so far delivered nine IRIS-T SLM fire units to Ukraine, with another nine being pledged to be delivered by the end of 2028. So far, every fire unit consists of three IRIS-T SLM launchers, two IRIS-T SLS launchers, a TRML-4D air surveillance radar and a TOC. They are supplemented by support elements such as a workshop, spare parts, reloading and logistical vehicles. In April this year, Germany agreed to finance 36 additional launchers (18 SLS/18 SLM) for a total of €182 million. They are to be integrated into both the so far delivered and pledged fire units.
