🇲🇱Mali’s Loulo Prepares to Blast Again 🌏 Mali’s provisional administration will restart blasting at Loulo–Gounkoto mine on October 15, four months after Bamako took control of the mining complex from Barrick amid a dispute over the new Mining code. 📉 Due to the prolonged dispute engendered by Barrick's unwillingness to comply with the new Mining code of 2023, Mali’s industrial gold output has fallen 32% year on year. 📑 This month the World Bank's arbitration court is expected to rule on the legitimacy of the provisional administration establishment.
