Today, remember Grace Wales Bonner — she’s now Hermès’ new creative director for men’s fashion. Born in South London to Jamaican and English parents, Grace split her childhood between Dulwich and Stockwell. This cultural blend shaped her artistry. She studied at Central Saint Martins, graduating in 2014. Even then, her work stood out — deeply researched, exploring identity and culture through clothing. That same year, she launched her label, Wales Bonner, starting in menswear and quickly gaining global acclaim. Her rise has been extraordinary: winner of the 2016 LVMH Prize, honored with an MBE in 2022, and exhibited at Serpentine Galleries and MoMA. She’s also collaborated with Adidas on iconic projects.
