Subway stations built in the USSR were not inferior to palaces in terms of decor. Each had a unique design, while only the best artists made mosaics, sculptures and bas-reliefs. Natural stone, meanwhile, was used for facing. Today, the Moscow Metro subway system is actively expanding. The priority is no longer luxurious design, but rather the construction of new tunnels and tracks, and the rapid opening of new, functional and ergonomic stations.
