Limine is a modern bootloader that boots Linux and other OSes on x86, ARM64, RISC-V, and LoongArch64 hardware, supporting MBR/GPT partitions and FAT/ISO filesystems on 32-bit Pentium Pro+ or 64-bit systems. Get binaries via Git (e.g., `git clone --branch=v11.x-binary`), build tools with `make`, and join Matrix/Fluxer chats for help. This lets you easily manage and boot multiple OSes with a clean menu, saving time on custom PC or server setups.

Over the past few years, a suspicious number of companies have started to "take care of your data", aka block/strictly limit your ability to unlock the bootloader on your own devices.
While this may not affect you directly, it sets a bad precedent. You never know what will get the axe next: Shizuku? ADB? Sideloading? I thought it might be a good idea to keep track of bad companies and workarounds.

Довольно интересное устройство для апгрейда старых компьютеров предложила компания Evergreen Technologies. Она выпустила PCI-карту AcceleraPCI, которая фактически является полноценным компьютером. Основой карты является процессор Intel Celeron с тактовой частотой 466 МГц (на нем, как видите, установлен стандартный cooler) и 128 Мбайт памяти. Так как размеры карты ограничены, для работы в ней используются не стандартные SDRAM-модули, а специальные SO DIMM микросхемы, которые обычно применяются в ноутбуках. Установка AcceleraPCI очень проста. Проведенные тесты показали, что компьютер, с установленной картой, по быстродействию ненамного уступает настольному компьютеру с Celeron 466 МГц. Любопытно, что AcceleraPCI можно разгонять как и любой другой компьютер. У карты есть свой BIOS, в котором, можно увеличить тактовую частоту шины и коэффициент умножения.

As of Feb 4, 2025, there is a new version of the benchmark. The standard NYT Connections benchmark is nearing saturation, with o1 scoring 90.7 and o3, along with other reasoning models, expected this year. The current rules require knowing only three categories, letting the fourth fall into place.
To increase difficulty, Extended Connections adds up to four extra trick words to each puzzle. We double-check that none of the added words fit into any category used in the corresponding puzzle. New puzzles have expanded the total from 436 to 601. Rankings changed little, but the benchmark is now ready for o3.

OpenAI’s GPT-4o Image Generation debuts with an ELO score in equal first-place in the Artificial Analysis Image Arena, outperforming Recraft V3, FLUX 1.1 [pro] and Gemini 2.0 Flash
OpenAI last week launched GPT-4o Image Generation, upgrading ChatGPT’s built-in image generation from the previous system that used OpenAI’s DALL-E dedicated image generator.
GPT-4o Image Generation supports both text and image prompt input, allowing image editing with instruction prompting. In our category breakdowns, the model excels particularly at Text & Typography, People: Portraits, Anime and SciFi whereby it holds the top ranking.
OpenAI has disclosed that 4o Image Generation is an “autoregressive model natively embedded” within the GPT-4o model used by ChatGPT. However, in their launch ‘demo’ images, OpenAI hints at a hybrid architecture. This could look like an autoregressive transformer generating latent space representations, which are then converted into pixels using diffusion techniques.
OpenAI first demonstrated GPT-4o’s ability to output images in May 2024 when GPT-4o was first launched. Google beat OpenAI to a public release of native image generation capability in a modern language model with their Gemini 2.0 Flash native image generation in early March. However, Gemini 2.0 Flash is ranked 27th to GPT-4o’s 2nd in Image Arena.
Beyond image generation, we have anecdotally found Gemini 2.0 Flash to be better than GPT-4o for certain image editing tasks where keeping an input image consistent is critical.
