The Great Purge (1936-1938) was when Stalin arrested, sent to labor camps, and murdered many people in the Soviet Union. On January 23, 1937, during the Second Moscow Trial, old Bolsheviks were forced to confess to fake crimes and punished. From June 1937 to November 1938, about 35,000 people were removed.
