The German battleship Bismarck was used in World War II. It was one of the largest and most powerful battleships built by Germany. During a major naval battle, it sank the British ship HMS Hood, which was one of the most famous ships in the Royal Navy. This event shocked Britain. British forces then launched a large mission to find and destroy Bismarck. The ship was chased across the Atlantic Ocean by warships and aircraft. It was hit and badly damaged during the pursuit.
