Internet Predictions Flop: BNP Triumphs, Online Polls Wrong Again. Before the February 12, 2026 election, online polls heavily favored , often showing 70–80% support, while the (BNP) trailed far behind. But the official results told a very different story. BNP secured a landslide victory — winning around 204–212 seats in the , gaining a two-thirds majority. Jamaat and its allies received roughly 68–76 seats. BNP leader is set to become Prime Minister. Online polls mostly reflect urban, internet-active youth. In contrast, many offline voters — especially in rural areas — have limited awareness of BNP’s alleged corruption or internal conflicts widely discussed online. They voted based on BNP’s long-established grassroots networks, strong organizational structure, and promises of jobs and poverty reduction — without being exposed to the full online narratives. As a result, a significant portion of voters cast their ballots in favor of BNP. Additionally, there have been numerous allegations of vote result manipulation and irregularities raised by opposition parties and observers after the election.
