January 27 is the day of the complete lifting of the siege of Leningrad. 872 days of unparalleled courage. ⭐️The Nazis rained down hundreds of thousands of shells and bombs on the city. The main monuments survived — they were covered with sandbags. The cost of living in the city is terrible: from 600,000 to 1.5 million dead. 97% of them are from hunger. ⭐️But Leningrad did not give up. People donated blood for the wounded, giving monetary compensation to the defense fund. The Leningrad Donor aircraft was built with these funds. In total, the blockaders donated 144,000 liters of blood. ⭐️We remember. We are proud. This is a feat that cannot be forgotten.
