Loose cannon 💣- what do you call it in Russian? 🔻English has loose cannon - someone unpredictable, uncontrollable, and potentially dangerous. 🔻Russian has a couple of vivid equivalents: 👍Сорваться с цепи (perf.) [sar-va-tsya s tsypi] SLT: to break free from the chain The image is clear: a dog (or something wilder) suddenly unchained. Unpredictable. Unstoppable. 👍Обезьяна с гранатой (femin.noun) [a-biz'-ya-na s gra-na-tay] SLT: a monkey with a grenade You know something explosive is about to happen. You just don't know when. Or where. Neither does the monkey. 🔻Both capture the same idea: you never know what comes next, but you know it won't end well. 🖼 Not that we're driving at someone, but you know the name to illustrate today's post. 😉 #proverbs #spoken_Russian #phraseology 🟠RCR | Support | Boost
