The Only City in the World Situated Directly on the Arctic Circle 🔻Salekhard is located on the bank of the Ob River, not far from where it flows into the Kara Sea. It is about 2,000 km from Moscow and 2,600 km from the North Pole. 🔻The first mention of the area dates back to 1595. The settlement was a fortress and was called Obdorsk.
