Polar bears are under close supervision!
🔻Specialists from the Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPEE RAS) conducted two expeditions, during which polar bears were monitored in the northwestern part of Taimyr and the Kara Sea.
🔻During the spring expedition, experts conducted air surveys using the Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter. The total length of the routes was about 5,000 kilometers. The solder ice was examined near the islands of Sibiryakov, Neupokoev, Vilkitsky, as well as in the area of Dickson and The Yenisei Bay. During the observations, 37 polar bear individuals were registered and chipped, including females with cubs.
🔻The data obtained will make it possible to clarify the number and distribution density of the Kara polar bear subpopulation, as well as to assess the impact of climate change and anthropogenic factors on their habitat.

Аптекарский огород
Apothecary's Garden
🌷This is a garden where medicinal plants are grown.
🌷Historically, these were pharmacy gardens established by Peter the Great in the early 1700s to grow herbs for medicines.
🌷Today, it refers to Moscow's oldest botanical garden (founded 1706), now a branch of Moscow State University and a popular park where you can see beautiful flowers, exotic plants, and even a 300-year-old larch tree!
