❗️Israeli sources revealed that several Israeli soldiers were exposed to a carcinogenic substance inside a military facility in the central region, as a result of damage to the building caused by ongoing attacks by Hezbullah and Iran against various targets. Israeli Army Radio writer Ofek Neuberger stated that the soldiers were exposed to asbestos for several days while performing their duties at the damaged facility. In a tweet on the Army Radio X account, he added that the soldiers were forced to sort documents and guard the site near the toxic substance without proper protective equipment. Even after the equipment was removed, the soldiers remained near the building for an additional period without adequate protection. No official comment has been issued by the Israeli authorities, who maintain strict censorship and a broad blackout regarding their losses resulting from missiles and drones launched by Iran or Hezbullah.

The operation would likely take longer than 15 days, which is about how long an expeditionary unit can operate without logistical support. Kharg is far—140 miles—from American assets in Kuwait City, but very close to Iran’s coast. The United States could probably take Kharg Island relatively quickly. But holding it would be much more difficult and could turn deadly. Iran might order its forces to set the oil facilities there on fire, much as Saddam Hussein did with Kuwait’s oil fields in the Gulf War
