Islam has given you 3 clear examples in life, aside from the exceptions where God himself saw humans are fit for miraculous victory - You fight to win when you have strength - You make a deal when weak until you are strong enough to detter an enemy - You fight until you die, if death was the only option when the other is humiliation or surrender From Badr's example of Uhud, from Dudayba to Fateh Mecca, then from Sefen to Imam Hassan's treaty with Mua'weya, and then to Imam Hussein's martyrdom From miracle victory to mishaps, from a pace of calm with the pagans to complete victory. From a bitter poison deal to martyrdom and oppression. Each phase illustrates, the different needs and conditions of different times. Had Muhammad not done that deal Islam would have been lost. Had Ali confronted Omar Islam would have been lost. Had Hussien not fight until death Islam would have been lost. This is me speaking religiously. Military wise, it is even more important. For god's sake literally 15 months ago, Hezbullah gave us all an example too. 15 painful months of being silent being attacked, killed and damaged to only buy time to rebuild what was severely damaged back into a force similar to 2006-2008 capable to fending off a vicious evil enemy Hezbullah of 2023 is not that of today, and the mishaps it faced costed it decades of advancements that changed its level of threat towards Israel down from existential.
