🚨🟢 Head of the Hamas Movement in the Gaza Strip, Khalil Al-Hayya, to Al-Jazeera (1/2): — Greetings to our steadfast and patient Palestinian people on their land, Palestine, and the land of Gaza. We salute our people, pray for the speedy recovery of our wounded, and pray for mercy upon the martyr Hamza Al-Sharbasi, whose martyrdom was confirmed in the treacherous targeting carried out by the zionist occupation this evening in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City. This criminal targeting is an extension of the zionist aggression against our people everywhere, and an extension of the targeting of the Palestinian negotiating delegation that was in the Qatari capital, Doha, on September 9th, because the occupation wants to take what it wants through pressure, killing, and terrorism. I say to the occupation and to everyone who hears us, we are people of a cause. We will not be intimidated by the killing of children or the martyrdom of leaders. Our children are the children of the Palestinian people, and my son and the son of anyone else are all children of our people without discrimination, and our feelings are one toward them. So far, Hamza Al-Sharbasi has been martyred, and my son Azzam and a group of others were seriously wounded. We ask Allah for their safety and the safety of all our wounded. The occupation has always accustomed us to the fact that when its operations fail, it begins to attribute them to other things here and there. If my son were martyred, it would claim he was targeted and attach any accusation to him. If my son is the primary target, that is an honor for me, for him, and for all the Palestinian people. If someone else is the target, then all the Palestinian people are targeted. No one can believe the criminal zionist occupation in its justifications, for assassinations take place morning and evening, every single day. All those targeted are my children and brothers, and all the children of my people. Our blood and souls are one, and our future and destiny are one. We are on the land of Gaza; we will not leave it, and our people will not surrender. Our people are people of a cause, a will, and a legitimate right that they will always strive for until they achieve their goal of statehood and self-determination, and their established political rights, God willing. When the occupation hints at further measures, killing people, and preparing for an attack on Gaza, this is one of its slogans: either the negotiator surrenders, or the Palestinian leader yields, or this will be the result for him, his son, and his people. This is the direct political message of the occupation, and the military message is that no one is above being targeted; all the Palestinian people are targeted and wanted by the occupation. Our people will not let these crimes pass for the zionist enemy, and will not surrender to them. We are patient, steadfast, and rooted in our land, and we will continue to work until we achieve all our legitimate rights, God willing.
