“All the Hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia refrain from concelebrating with the hierarchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church.” Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Council of Bishops, “Protocol No. 13,” May 19/June 1, 1967. “The Russian Orthodox Church Abroad at the present time does not concelebrate with New Calendarists or with ecumenists…” “…binding on all the clergy and members of our Church.” Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Synod of Bishops, “Notice from the Chancery of the Synod of Bishops,” February 6/19, 1987, signed by Archbishop Laurus. “By the same token we have no spiritual communion with any autocephalous Orthodox Church, living by the new calendar and having communion in prayer with the ecumenists. Thus, any kind of communion has been destroyed, both in prayer and also even in the sacraments.” Metropolitan Vitaly, “Pre-Conciliar Epistle from the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia,” Orthodox Life 50, no. 4 (July-August 2000): 2–3.

From Metropolitan Agafangle of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad: The Territorial Recruitment Center detained Deacon Grigory. Our deacon, Grigory Filonenko, from the Intercession (Pokrov) Church in Malyn, Ukraine, was detained by the Territorial Recruitment Center. He is currently being transported to Zhytomyr. Lord, help Deacon Grigory! We will prepare a complaint to the U.S. Congress and human rights organizations if he is not released today.

ROCOR Synod Circular Decree, 1984 Decree Circularly from the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia to all Diocesan Right Reverend Hierarchs The Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, on January 18/31, 1984, heard the resolution of the Council of Bishops of 1983, dated July 31/August 13, 1983, concerning the adoption of the text anathematizing the ecumenical heresy. It resolved to supplement the rite of the Sunday of Orthodoxy with the following text: “To those who attack the Church of Christ and teach that she has divided into branches, which differ in doctrine and way of life, and who affirm that the Church does not visibly exist, but will be formed in the future, when all branches, schisms, and heterodox confessions, and even religions, will unite into one body; and who do not distinguish the priesthood and mysteries of the Church from those of heretics, but teach that the baptism and eucharist of heretics are effectual unto salvation; therefore, to those who knowingly have communion with these aforementioned heretics, or who assist them, or defend their new heresy of ecumenism under the pretext of brotherly love or the supposed unification of separated Christians: Anathema.” Concerning this, send a decree to all Diocesan Right Reverend Hierarchs. February 8/21, 1984 Metropolitan Philaret Chairman of the Synod of Bishops Bishop Gregory Secretary of the Synod
