27 January - the day of the complete liberation of Leningrad from fascist invaders The significance of this day for the fate of Leningrad can hardly be overestimated. The blockade lasted from 8 September 1941 to 27 January 1944. The Germans aimed to break the resistance of the defenders of Leningrad and capture it, but were defeated. Dear friends, polytechnics, citizens of St. Petersburg, on this memorable day we call on you to remember those who laid down their lives in defence of our Motherland. We remember! We are proud!
