Polytech scientists, as part of a research team under the #Priority2030 program, have developed a method to reduce the side effects of cancer therapy. 👉 Why do side effects occur? Toxic anti-cancer drugs affect not only the tumor but also healthy cells. This is why chemotherapy is accompanied by side effects like hair loss, nausea, and fatigue. 👉 What is the researchers' solution? Using nanoparticles as containers for the active substance to deliver it precisely to the target – the tumor. Creating a super-coating for them made of lecithin – a substance that makes up 30% of our brain. This biocompatible coating won't trigger an immune response and will make the nanoparticles less "detectable" to healthy cells. Read more about the research here.
