🇨🇳#China: 10 petabytes of sensitive data have been stolen from the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin and put up for sale online. The NSCC is part of China’s technological infrastructure, serving over 6000 institutions, including defence and scientific agencies. The stolen data includes research in aerospace engineering, bioinformatics, fusion simulations, and military technology. Among the files labeled "secret" are studies of experimental Chinese weapons tested against US systems. One document, classified for 10 years, contains a damage simulation system analyzing weapon performance against various armored targets, including a HIMARS system, an aircraft carrier, and a WWII bunker. The study examines factors such as penetration efficiency, optimal impact areas, and armor density variations. This would mark the largest known data breach in Chinese history.
