🇨🇳#China: Two former Chinese defence ministers, Wei Fenghe and Li Shangfu, have been sentenced to suspended death sentences on corruption charges. China’s military court sentenced the two former ministers to death with a two-year reprieve. Under Chinese law, this means the executions will be suspended and the sentences are expected to change to life imprisonment if they do not commit further crimes during the reprieve period. In this case, Chinese state media said no parole or further sentence reductions will be allowed after commutation.
