Culling Poultry is an Ineffective and Costly Biosecurity Measure Mallard ducks continually reinfect farms with mild H5N1 bird flu. Paying farmers to kill healthy flocks is driving up price of eggs, creating egg shortages. Agriculture policy should shift to allow natural immunity, increase the egg supply, and quell the outbreak.
