Peace Fighters #video#Israel Rami Elhanan is an Israeli army veteran who fought in three wars. First, he lost friends in the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Then he lost his only daughter in a suicide bombing by Palestinian terrorists in 1997. After that, anger and the urge for revenge led to dialogue about reconciliation to stop the violence and retaliation on both sides. Rami has since dedicated himself to advocating peace between Israelis and Arabs. He’s convinced it’s the only way to secure lasting peace in the region. On November 29, 1947, the UN voted to split Palestine into Jewish and Arab states, leading to the creation of Israel in 1948. Since then, Israel has fought eight wars with Arab neighbours and witnessed almost daily tension with Palestinians. There have been 11 attempts at peace, but they haven’t solved one of the world’s longest-running conflicts so far.
