#photo 5 weeks after the powerful volcanic eruption and followed tsunami that flooded Tonga islands, survivors are slowly returning to normal life. People are pictured were living on Mango Island, which is completely flooded now. 52 aged Sione Wailea on the right side told that all 14 families ran to the summit of the island, but one inhabitant was swept away. They were left for 2 days without food until a boat brought supplies. Another survivor, Sulaki Kafoika, 72, said he had never experienced anything like this in his life. The 62 survivors were evacuated, and are now living in the capital of Tonga, Nuku’alofa. The families have been housed together in a church hall, but they’ve had to self-isolate due to a Covid outbreak.
