Nepalese Kidney Village #video#Nepal There’s an entire village in Nepal called the 'kidney village.' That’s because almost every household has a family member who’s sold a kidney here. Organ smugglers frequent Nepalese villages to convince their poor residents to sell their organs. Many are told their kidney will grow back like fruit after the surgery, or that sacrificing just one won’t affect them. Up to 10,000 kidneys are sold on the black market every year. Shyam Kumar Budhathoki was one such Nepalese villager. He was promised $6,000, but paid much less, and now he can’t walk because a problem with his legs appeared after the surgery.
