Entire families fled the city center and settled in a building on the outskirts, hoping it would be safer there. There is no heating in the building, people sleep in warm clothes because it gets very cold at night, and they cook outside. The explosions and rumbling never stop. Natalya, the mother of ten-year-old Sveta, says the girl ‘even flinches in her sleep, she’s really afraid.’ But most of the adults don't notice the explosions and say they’re already used to it.
