To this day, they are constantly herding reindeer across the vast tundra of the Russian Arctic. Children follow their parents from birth, learning everything about life in the tundra. But from autumn to spring, they live at boarding schools to get an education in towns. While some Nenets children become accustomed to comfortable urban life, others miss home so much they run away and go back to their families on foot.
