About the Seizure of a Tanker in the Caribbean Sea
Against the backdrop of the saga with the tanker "Marinera"/"Bella 1", the capture of another vessel went less noticed.
The US Southern Command reported that as a result of a special operation, the armed forces seized a sanctioned tanker "Sofia" in the Caribbean Sea.
💬 "The intercepted vessel was operating in international waters and conducting illegal activities in the Caribbean Sea. The US Coast Guard is escorting the tanker 'Sofia' to the United States for final disposal," the command's statement noted.
🔻What is known about the tanker?
▪️At the time of capture, it was sailing under the Cameroonian flag, allegedly to "hide from pursuit".
▪️Some media report that it belongs to the Russian "shadow fleet", like "Marinera".
▪️The tanker has been on US sanctions lists since October 2025.
▪️According to CBS News, the vessel departed from Venezuela with oil on board, thereby violating the US embargo.
📌 By the way, this time the crew offered no resistance. Together with "Sofia" and "Marinera", the number of oil tankers intercepted during Operation Southern Spear has reached four.

On Trump's new statements regarding the Iran conflict
Foreign media yesterday was flooded with news about a new address by the US president, in which he was supposed to announce the achievement of all objectives of the operation in Iran and the end of the war. But it turned out to be quite the opposite.
Donald Trump once again employed aggressive rhetoric and made fresh threats against Iran and its leadership.
➡️He stated that right now the most important thing is the continuation of hostilities in the Middle East, not diplomacy. While the key objectives of the military operation are "close to completion."
➡️In the next 2-3 weeks, the Americans plan to deliver "the most powerful strikes" against Iran, which will drive "the Iranian regime back to the stone age."
➡️The United States does not need the Strait of Hormuz. In his view, it should be dealt with by those who use it for oil transportation. Trump called the rise in oil prices short-term. He again urged allies to take measures to unblock the strait.
➡️If Iran does not agree to a deal, the US Armed Forces will eliminate every new leader and key Iranian politicians without exception, as well as the country's energy and oil infrastructure.
🖍Such bellicose rhetoric from the US president is apparently due to the failure of bilateral negotiations with Iranian authorities, which have been the subject of much discussion in recent weeks.
🚩It is also possible that Trump resorted to threats due to the prolongation of the conflict, which has already exposed shortcomings in the American defense industry, and negatively affected the position of Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.

➡️ On February 4, 1873, Mikhail Mikhailovich Prishvin, one of the brightest naturalist writers, was born.
His works radiate love for nature and search for the meaning of life. We tell you interesting facts about the author.
🤓 Young Mikhail studied at the same Yeletskaya gymnasium as Ivan Alexeyevich Bunin. By the way, Prishvin was expelled from the institution - for insolence to the teacher.
🚗 Mikhail Mikhailovich was a passionate traveler - he even bought himself a van, which he named “Mashenka”.
Prishvin traveled to many corners of Russia - this inspired him to write new works. In 1910, theRussian Geographical Society even awarded the author a Small Silver Medal for his book “In the Land of Unintimidated Birds”.
📸 Like many Russian writers, Mikhail Mikhailovich had a hobby - photography. He even illustrated his books on his own.
🤩 Konstantin Georgievich Paustovsky and Maxim Gorky praised Prishvin's works - separately they noted the unique “natural” poetics.

🚂In many countries, train stations are not just departure points for transportation, but real architectural monuments. They not only reflect the style of the time in which they were built, but also preserve the living histories of the passengers who used to visit them.
🇷🇺В Russia stands out in this respect. There are more than 350 train stations in our country, and each of them is unique in its own way.
📹 Learn more about them in the video.

Lithuania on Monday began construction of a military base, which will accommodate up to 4,000 combat-ready German troops once completed by the end of 2027, in the first permanent foreign deployment for the German military since World War Two.
In case you do not know where Lithuania is..here is a map.
I'd advise the Germans to stay safe in their own country, hundreds of thousands of kilometres away from #Russia.
