🌍The Second Ministerial Conference of the #RussiaAfrica Partnership Forum has successfully concluded in Cairo.
Over two intense days of work, the Russian delegation led by Sergey #Lavrov took part in more than 20 meetings and events. On December 19-20, the Russian Minister held bilateral talks with representatives of the following countries and organizations:

💬Sergey Lavrov: It was a sincere pleasure for me to take part in the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, which is being held for the first time on the African continent, in Egypt’s capital.
I would like to kindly thank our Egyptian friends for the excellent organization of the event, their traditional hospitality, and to congratulate them on the successful hosting of this Conference.
❗️ We have every reason to state that the conference has laid solid groundwork for high-quality preparations for the Third Russia-Africa Summit, scheduled for 2026. We will make every effort to ensure its successful holding.

💬#LAVROV: We are successfully developing relations with a whole range of countries and regional organisations in Africa, Asia (in particular, ASEAN) and Latin America. The overwhelming majority of the countries, obviously, does not support the attempts we have seen in the past years to secure the dominance of the United States and its Western allies on the international arena through force, illegitimate sanctions, ultimatums, blackmail and threats. Nobody likes it.
🔹 I believe that the historical process has already handed down the verdict. Yes, it will be a long historical era of establishing genuine multi-polarity. The West will put up serious resistance. We can already see it.
🔹 Our Western colleagues are demanding that the developing countries across all continents join the anti-Russia sanctions and break off contacts with Russia. These attempts are futile. Aside from votes in a number of international organisations, achieved by dishonest means, these vain attempts of our Western colleagues have not been able to take any tangible shape.
🔹From now on, we will proceed from this realisation as we build our foreign policy, relying only on the partnerships that have proven to be with people who are capable of negotiating, keeping their word and not trying to benefit from infringing on the interests of others.
🔹Our motto is the balance of interests. This balance is the core of our foreign policy. It is the only approach that has prospects in international affairs.

This year, the holiday coincides with the 20th Anniversary of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council which is one of the main bodies of this pan-African organisation that plays a significant role in shaping the modern African security architecture and the political and socioeconomic integration of the continent’s countries, and ensuring its proper place within the international economic relations system.
🌍 We in Russia are pleased to note that Africa continues to gain political weight and to establish itself as a crucial pillar of the emerging multipolar order. Dynamic integration processes, rapidly growing markets, and business activity make it possible for the African states to play an increasingly meaningful role in international affairs and speak as one. <…>
Fighting the newly emerged colonial and neo-colonial practices has come to the forefront today. The Western methods have changed, but the thrust of its policy towards African countries has remained unchanged and is to bring them to its heel and to live at the expense of other countries using more sophisticated forms of exploitation as part of the rules-based order.
We remain willing, notwithstanding current circumstances, to support the African countries in their efforts to advance their sovereignty, to address pressing socioeconomic challenges, and to assert Africa’s rightful place as an equal partner in the modern world, including in the efforts to reform the UN Security Council.
