This year has begun with new ambitions and clear priorities set by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, whose long-term vision and strong political will are systematically enhancing the tech ecosystem of Uzbekistan. Recently, during a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan’s IT development agenda was reviewed. Strategic initiatives were presented, focusing on four key areas: startups, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and digital government. With a strong political commitment and a long-term vision, Uzbekistan is rapidly evolving into a regional IT outsourcing hub. The next goal is to establish a competitive global startup ecosystem. Starting in 2026, a four-stage startup framework will be implemented, covering everything from education to international markets. This framework will offer grants, tax incentives, co-financing, and export support. Currently Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem is estimated as the second fastest-growing globally and the fastest in Central Asia.
