Just re-watched Peter Thiels Talk about competition. Just a little summary: Copetition is for losers, most profitable modern companies are monopolies.- "all happy companies are different, all unhappy companies are the same" If you want to be successful in business you must build monopoly regardless of the size of your market(in fact its best to start from tiny market that nobody notices). Try things which are not only new for you, but also new for rest of the world. Growth is important, but robustness is even more important - will company be alive in 10 years. - "you want to be the last mover.." Vertical integration capital intensive, but effective. Ability to get fast adoption is critical if your product is adopted at the high speed. (This is the idea I misses previously and I think most companies are not doing a great job in this area especially as they get larger). When lots of people are trying to do the same thing, it is often the sign of insanity. Competition makes you better only at things you're competing on. https://youtu.be/3Fx5Q8xGU8k
