#GuestLecture 📣 Dear TEAM Students, One in ten people around the world today lives in abject poverty. Over 700 million people live on less than $2.15 a day (the international poverty line calculated by the World Bank). In Uzbekistan, 14% of the population (or over 5 million people) lived below the national poverty line in 2022. The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (End Poverty Day - EPD) is annually marked on October 17. This is a good occasion to critically look at the situation with poverty across the globe and in Uzbekistan and discuss what measures should be taken to reduce it. Marco Mantovanelli, World Bank Country Manager for Uzbekistan, will meet with our students on EPD’s eve. He will tell how this leading multilateral development bank works with the authorities in various parts of the globe, including Uzbekistan, to reduce poverty and boost shared prosperity. Join Marco’s guest lecture that will be held at the university premises next week! 🌐Language...English 📆Date...........Thursday, October 12 ⌚Time..........14:00 - 15:30 📌Venue.........TEAM Hall ✅ Seats are limited, so please register promptly by completing the form: https://forms.gle/QbDGais7EG5AoMGg9
