Greek sirens nest on the rocky island to lure the sailors with their enchanting voices. Thai Thep Kinnaree wave her swan wings to make the whole jungle dance. Egyptian Ba-bird symbolizes an eternal mobility of the soul while the Slavic Sirin foretells the future and brings an eternal joy.

В сказках реальность и вымысел неотделимы друг от друга. Перебраться на другую сторону, открыть волшебную «изнанку» земного мира очень просто. Каждая дорога ведёт героя сказки на встречу с непостижимым. Будь-то найденное перо Жар-птицы или старичок-лесовичок, поджидающий героя на опушке, любая встреча может стать порталом в мир чудес и загадок. Для YASPIS маркером перехода в этот мир становится инверсия. Всего один клик меняет любой кадр, любой образ до неузнаваемости. Хрупкая реальность рассыпается от одного лишь прикосновения. ___________ A fairytale world is eternally dual. A thin line exists between real life and fantasy. Any path may lead you to the Otherworld, whether it’s an old wizard met at the forest’s edge or the Firebird’s feather found in a cave. For YASPIS it’s often the inversion that marks this transition. Inverted colors represent how fragile and fickle the real world is – it can change instantly with just one touch.

В 1842 году астроном и физик Джон Гершель изобрел новый способ фотопечати – цианотипию – химический процесс проявления снимков в синих тонах. В поисках быстрого способа копирования своих чертежей (так и появилось слово blueprint) ученый обнаружил чувствительность к свету солей железа. Метод Гершеля значительно упростил и удешевил процесс проявления, а затем шагнул дальше – с помощью цианотипии монохромные изображения цвета берлинской лазури начали переносить на ткани, дерево, камень и стекло. ____________ Cyanotypes were first introduced by the astronomer and physicist John Herschel in 1842. To find a way of reproducing his drawings he discovered the photosensitivity of iron salts. Cyan blue shade of resulting photocopies gave its name to the blueprints. Herschel’s method turned to be one of the most influential contributions to photography. Different artists quickly picked up the Cyanotype method as this type of printing can be used on a wide variety of surfaces such as fabric, wood, stone and glass.

They always meet a donor – a character that tests the hero and provides magical assistance if he succeed. Grey Wolf brings the apples of youth to Tsarevitch, Baba Yaga hides him from the chase, Monster-Whale gets the magic ring from the ocean. They only help if the hero helps them first: if he’s kind enough they are willing to return the favor.
