Sono passati ormai 5 anni da quando OxygenOS è arrivata sul mercato. Dal 2016 inoltre OnePlus mantiene dei programmi di beta testing, uno pubblico e uno privato. Ecco le novità:
Closed Beta (Alpha)
Queste build vengono rilasciate a un gruppo ristretto di persone. Poco dopo il lancio di un dispositivo OnePlus fa una selezione a cui tutti possono partecipare. Queste build contengono funzioni nuovissime prima che vengano rilasciate a tutti. D'ora in poi, queste build saranno rilasciate 2 volte al mese e non 4. OP annuncia anche che a breve sarà aperto il programma per la Serie 8.
Open Beta (Beta)
Queste build sono testabili da tutti. Contengono alcune caratteristiche nuove che vengono testate poco prima del rilascio al pubblico. Queste build vengono usate da molte persone e sono davvero stabili. Per migliorare ancora di più la qualità saranno rilasciate solo una volta al mese e non più 2.
Stabili
Queste build sono quelle rilasciate a tutti. Contengono nuove funzioni e patch che sono considerate stabili e adatte all'uso quotidiano. Continueranno ad essere rilasciate una volta ogni due mesi circa.
