Please don’t make me fall in love with you. I will write about the way your hands fit perfectly in mine,as though they had never known a home so familiar. How I could measure the length of your neck in kisses, the curve of your jaw cradled tenderly in my palms, as I try, with trembling eyes, to convey a devotion older than language. I will write about the way our heartbeats find the same rhythm when I run into your embrace—how I’ll carve every touch into memory until your love is the only thing I remember. I will write about the way I could get drunk on the sound of your laughter, the way your eyes always seek mine, and the quiet softness that unfolds when they finally find me.
