She left her home with her family at the east of Khanyounis due to the Israeli genocide. Her home was destroyed by air strike. She and her family moved to live temporarily in a school in the west of Khan Yunis, where she was shot. On 29th of December she was shot with a large high velocity bullet injured her spinal cord at Th3-4 level. She presented with complete paraplegia with a sensory level at the nipples (Th4).
