U.S. government remains closed after 10th Senate rejection The U.S. Senate has once again failed to approve a short-term spending bill, leaving the government shutdown in effect for over two weeks. The 51–45 vote was not enough to meet the required 60 votes. Federal agencies remain closed, with $6.5 billion already spent on military payments.
