📈 BRICS share of global GDP (PPP) hits record 35.7% in 2023 At the same time, the economic indicators of the G7 fell to 29%, according to Sputnik calculations based on World Bank data. By the end of 2023, the share of BRICS in global output increased by 0.6 percentage points year-on-year. Since the creation of the bloc in 2006, its share in the global economy has increased by 10.2 percentage points. At the same time, the G7 lost 0.4 percentage points over the year. Since 2006, it's share has fallen by 9.7 percentage points. In purchasing power parity (PPP) terms, world GDP reached $184.7 trillion in 2023, up 7% from a year earlier. The rest of the world accounted for 35.3% of world GDP last year, with its share broadly stable since 1990, fluctuating within one percentage point.
