Rep. Liz Cheney lost her Wyoming GOP primary to Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman yesterday, but she’s carved out a new job for herself: ensuring “Donald Trump is never again anywhere near the Oval Office.” She’ll be launching an organization to “educate the American people about the ongoing threat to our Republic, and to mobilize a unified effort to oppose any Donald Trump campaign for president,” her spokesperson said. The new org will serve as Cheney’s primary political vehicle as she considers a presidential run in 2024. Meanwhile, in Alaska: ➡️ Former Gov. Sarah Palin advanced to the general election, along with two other GOP candidates, in the primary for Alaska’s open House seat. ➡️ Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski will take on Trump-pick Kelly Tshibaka in the November general election after the two advanced from an all-party top-four primary yesterday — a first in the state. That’s all for today, folks. We’ll be back on Tuesday, Aug. 23 for the next primaries.
