Let’s state the obvious: Democrat John Fetterman had a rough time at last night’s Pennsylvania Senate debate as he continues to recover from a stroke he had in May. Will it matter? Campaign debates are notoriously superficial, and casual voters might not have known that his speech struggles aren’t indicative of a deeper neurological issue. But Fetterman’s team is betting they can attack something his opponent Mehmet Oz said on stage — that abortion should be left up to “women, doctors, local political leaders.” In the Michigan governor’s debate, abortion was also a hot topic. Democratic incumbent Gretchen Whitmer criticized Republican Tudor Dixon for supporting a near-total ban on abortion.
