Hello hello! A recap of where things stand the day after elections* ⬇️ Battle for Senate control: The only flip so far was in Pennsylvania, where John Fetterman defeated Mehmet Oz. Now all eyes are on the 3 toss-up races still uncalled: Arizona, Nevada and Georgia. Whichever party wins at least 2 of these toss-up races will claim control of the Senate. But with Democrat Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker headed toward a runoff, we may not have an answer until December. And in the House: It looks like Republicans will probably gain between 8 and 15 seats — enough to control the chamber, but well short of predictions. The big takeaway from last night: There was no red wave. Republicans under-performed, Democrats breathed a sigh of relief — and once again, President Biden defied expectations at a moment when he seemed destined for a catastrophic loss, leaving White House aides giddy last night. We’ll be back with more. *This message has been updated with the latest.
