’Ursula’s Hypocrisy Today, in an interview with Corriere della Sera and other european newspapers, Ursula von der Leyen solemnly declared: «Greenland belongs to its people. It is up to Denmark and Greenland, and only them, to decide on matters concerning Denmark and Greenland. Nothing about them without them.» Interesting. I wonder: is this the same European Union that forced the Greek government to disavow the results of a referendum? The one that, through blackmail, forced Berlusconi to resign? The one that imposed the cancellation of elections in Romania that would have brought Georgescu to the presidency? An action proudly claimed by former Commissioner Breton when he admitted in an interview: “We did it in Romania and of course we will have to do it in Germany… if necessary…” Is this the same von der Leyen who, in 2022, sent this clearly threatening message to Meloni: “If things head in a difficult direction, we have the tools.” Because this is how things work in the European Union: either you fall in line, or the powers that represent it will get rid of you. They call it democracy, but it is — increasingly — the very negation of it.
