Google is officially starting to lock down Android sideloadingโฆ step by step. Installing APKs from outside the Google Play Store may never be the same again Any developer uploading apps to stores like: โข APKPure, Aptoide, APKMirror, APKCombo โข Modded Apps ๐ will reportedly need to verify their identity with Google first. And if the app is Unverified Android could make the installation process a nightmare: - Aggressive security warnings. - 24-hour waiting periods. - PIN, fingerprint, and extra. confirmations. - Possible installation restrictions on some devices. Google says this is to protect users from malware - Even if the app is NOT on Google Play - Even if you download it from a third-party source the developer may still need to be recognized and verified by Google. Expected exceptions for now: - ADB installations - Some custom ROMs / Modified devices - Power users willing to go through complicated steps This could become the biggest blow to Android sideloading in its history ๐
