π§Ebsteinβs anomaly (gotta know this one)! πEbsteinβs Anomaly is a rare congenital heart condition that primarily affects the tricuspid valve. In this condition the septal leaflet of the tricuspid valve is underdeveloped and displaced and apically creating an atrialized right ventricle and severe tricuspid regurgitation . β΅οΈIn this condition the posterior and septal leaflets of the tricuspid valve are underdeveloped and the anterior leaflet is enlarged and βsail like.β The echocardiographic hallmark of the disease is septal leaflet apical displacement of >7-8mm/m^2. This leads to a right ventricular atrialization which causes the right atrium to be large and the anatomic right ventricle to be small in size. Severe TR is usually seen and overtime RV failure and right heart congestive heart disease. πAssociated abnormalities with this condition are: π>50% of patient will have WPW (wolf Parkinson white syndrome) . π>90% will have a interatrial connection (ASD/PFO) that can lead to cyanosis. #VideoEducativo
