🇷🇺🇴🇲📞On January 16, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi had a telephone conversation. During the call, primary attention was paid to the externally fuelled serious escalation of tensions around Iran, which carries the risk of escalating into a large-scale regional conflict. The Ministers underscored the importance of preventing such a negative scenario. They pointed to the need to cease any interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, which constitutes a gross violation of the fundamental norms and principles of the UN Charter. When discussing the situation in Yemen, the Ministers spoke in favour of intensifying collective efforts to create favourable conditions for launching a broad intra-Yemeni dialogue under UN auspices, with the participation of interested countries in the region. The Ministers also discussed a number of practical issues related to the further development of multifaceted Russia-Oman relations, based on the agreements reached following the talks between the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said in Moscow in April 2025. #RussiaOman
