🇷🇺Comment by the Russian Embassy in the Netherlands on giving the Four Freedoms Award to Zelensky and Ukraine 🔹The theatre of absurdin Middelburg, the Netherlands, has reached a new level. Giving the Four Freedoms Award to Zelensky and present-dayUkraine is not just a mistake, but a textbook example of mockery of common sense. In essence, it is the triumph of the "looking-glass world", where black is presented as white, and dictatorship is presented as the highest manifestation of democracy. 🔹It is striking how persistently the Western elites try to blend the concepts of 'Ukraine' and 'freedom'. In today's reality they are antonyms. Let us take a look at the very ‘freedoms’ promoted by this award: 🚫Freedom of Speech? Ask the journalists who have been killed or persecuted about that. Ask the millions of people who are legally prohibited from speaking, writing and thinking in their native Russian language. The Kiev regime has cleaned the information field makingita sterile desert, where only one opinion is permitted — the ‘correct’ one. 🚫Freedom from Want and Fear? Ukraine today is a country living in a total fear of TCR (Territorial Centre of Recruitment and Social Support) and SBU (Security Service of Ukraine). What freedom of movement are we talking about when the borders are locked and your own citizens have been turned into ‘serfs’ who are being forcibly driven to their deaths for the sake of Western interests? 🚫Freedom of Worship? Perhaps the most cynical part of this show. In August 2025 Kiev launched the process of completely banning the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. How you can perform religious rites in a country where local authorities and security forces seize churches, the monasteries are closed, and the clergy are persecuted? 🔹Giving this Award to a person who consistently destroyed all civil rights in the country is not honoring of a hero, but a slap in the face to the very idea of democracy. That very same 'the upside-down world' where the peace prize is awarded to a warmonger, and the prize for freedom goes to the person who has built the most brutal authoritarian regime in modern Europe. 🔹It seems, the freedom criteria in the West have once and for all deteriorated: now the hero is not the one who is protecting the citizens' rights, but the one who most effectively serves as an instrument in the fight against Russia. 🤡Congratulations to the Award organizers: you have written your names in the history of world political clownery. However, this ‘performance’ does not exude freedom, but rather profound moral decay.
