🗓 4 years ago on May 26, 2021, 🪙 TON Mainnet was launched 🟢The Toncoin network, known as The Open Network (TON), officially launched its mainnet in May 2021. This launch was the result of the efforts of a decentralized community of developers who continued to work on the project after Telegram ended its participation due to legal issues with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2020. 🟢Prior to this, in November 2019, Telegram launched a testnet called testnet2, in which 5 billion coins were generated. However, due to the SEC’s ban on the issuance of Gram tokens, Telegram stopped development of TON in May 2020. 🟢After that, an independent community of developers took the initiative, renamed the token from Gram to Toncoin, and continued the development of the network as an open blockchain project. Since then, Toncoin has become the main cryptocurrency of the TON ecosystem, tightly integrated with the Telegram messenger. 🎉 Happy Birthday TON 🤑
