The Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement reiterating this stance. Russian compatriots residing in Iran are advised to exercise reasonable caution. The Ministry further stated that foreign forces hostile to Iran are attempting to destroy the Iranian state using color revolution tactics. They believe the decline of artificially instigated protests suggests the situation is stabilizing. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova added that threats from Washington to launch new military strikes against Iran are categorically unacceptable.
