🇰🇪🇷🇺Russia Halts Kenyan Recruitment After Diplomatic Pressure Following a direct diplomatic intervention by Nairobi, Russia has agreed to cease recruiting Kenyan nationals for its war in Ukraine. Kenyan Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi confronted Moscow after reports that up to 1,000 citizens were enlisted, many lured under false pretenses. This incident represents at least second consecutive attempt from an African country to make Russia stop its shady military recruitment operations abroad. Previously, South Africa, otherwise allied to Russia, forced Moscow to stop the similar operations, when South African nationals were lured under false pretense and, then, forced to sign military contracts in Russia.
