š£International Conference on Vocational Education: The Road to Quality, Partnership, and a Sustainable Future On April 10, 2025, the international conference āAdvancing Skills for the Future: Strategies for Excellence in Vocational Education and Trainingā was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tashkent. š¹ Held for the first time within the framework of the VET4UZ project ā financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by the branch of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation in Uzbekistan ā the conference was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and served as an important platform for discussing reforms in the vocational education system. Opening remarks were delivered by Shaxrukh Daliev, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation; Adkham Khudoykulov, Director of the "Education Sector Project Office"; Sardor Niyazov, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee; Konstantin Obolensky, Ambassador of Switzerland to Uzbekistan; Professor Ursula Renold, Chair of Education Systems at ETH Zurich; and Simone Strasburger, Team Leader of the VET4UZ project. š„ The conference brought together over 180 participants, including representatives from government bodies, the private sector, colleges and technicums, youth organizations, and international partners. š Key discussion topics included: ⢠Strategic reforms in vocational education ⢠Development of dual education and public-private partnerships ⢠Quality of education and teacher training ⢠International experience and its adaptation to Uzbekistan š” The conference inspired participants to take joint steps toward a future where vocational education becomes a driver of sustainable development, youth opportunities, and the countryās economic growth.
