Plebiscite dictatorship, secularism, and sometimes even open hostility with the church, progress, a unified bourgeois Europe, bureaucratization and standardization - this is the list of postulates of bonapartism. Yes, not as radical as the Jacobins, but the essence is the same - the destruction of organic traditional ties (family, estate, guild, religious) that have been formed in Europe for centuries. But Russia won. And not only on the battlefields: it was the Patriotic War that had a decisive influence on the formation of Russian conservative thought. Shishkov, Karamzin, Glinka, Sturdza, Arakcheev. From here we can learn only one lesson - compromise with the modern world is impossible. It can take any form capable, like Bonapartism, of flawlessly imitating Tradition, but this does not change the essence of the matter. Egalitarianism, progressivism and secularism have always been and will be hostile to Russia.
